QUEZON CITY, Philippines — The Quezon City government yesterday inked an agreement with the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) to approve additional in-city bus routes.

Mayor Joy Belmonte and LTFRB officer-in-charge Zona Tamayo led the signing of the memorandum of agreement (MOA) for the city’s bus augmentation program.

The MOA covers eight public utility bus routes, which will be operational next month following evaluation by the LTFRB.

This includes routes from Quezon city hall and Welcome Rotonda to various points in the city such as Cubao, Litex, Katipunan, Mindanao Avenue, Gilmore, Roosevelt, General Luis and E. Rodriguez Avenue.

The program aims to provide additional public transportation to commuters amid the coronavirus pandemic.
