3 drug suspects killed
MANILA, Philippines — Two drug suspects were killed in stings in Bulacan yesterday. Another was gunned down in Ilocos Sur on Tuesday.
Col. Lawrence Cajipe, Bulacan police director, said Alnor Liwa and an alias Onin engaged police officers in shootouts in Barangay Gaya-Gaya, San Jose del Monte City and Catacte in Bustos town, respectively.
In Vigan City, Jayson Ugay, who surrendered under Oplan Tokhang in 2016, was shot dead by an unidentified assailant.
Ugay, a resident of Bantay town, was found lifeless in a pool of blood at the crime scene in Barangay San Julian at around noon.
Meanwhile, Teofilo Lopez, 25, who escaped from his police escorts in Agoo, La Union was arrested in Baguio City on Tuesday night.
Lopez, also a drug suspect, was supposed to be brought to a hospital after he showed symptoms of the coronavirus disease 2019 when he removed his face mask then coughed at the face of one of his escorts.
