TUGUEGARAO CITY, Philippines — A couple, both public school teachers, died when their motorcycle collided with a truck in Barangay Mataguisi in Pudtol, Apayao on Friday.
Mark Ventura, 29, and his wife Jaysa 27, were on their way to the Mataguisi Comprehensive National High School when the accident occurred in a curved portion of the highway at around 8 a.m.
The victims died while being treated in a hospital.
The truck driver, Reynaldo Maruquin, 39, surrendered.
Police said the couple had been reporting to school to assess the progress in the distribution of learning modules.
