ILOILO CITY, Philippines — Three children drowned in a river in Pototan, Iloilo on Wednesday.
John Arnold Peñafiel, 10; his brother, Arnold, 6, and their relative Rogelyn Dolendes, 9, were with a group of children who went fishing in a river in Barangay Intaluan, according to Maj. Ciriaco Esquilarga, Pototan police chief.
Esquilarga said the victims could have been swept away by the strong current.
