Drug sting yields P13.6 million shabu

MANILA, Philippines — Around two kilos of shabu valued at P13.6 million were confiscated from two alleged drug pushers in Quezon City on Tuesday.

Maribel Salipot, 27, and Jonathan Condeza, 41, were apprehended by operatives of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and Quezon City Police District during a sting in Barangay Tandang Sora.

Director Adrian Alvarino, chief of the PDEA National Capital Region office, said the suspects were arrested following a drug deal with a policeman who posed as a buyer.

In Barangay San Antonio, members of the Masambong police station nabbed yesterday a drug suspect and his companion during an anti-narcotics operation.

Mariano Solano, who was on the drug watchlist, and Michael Tamonang were taken into police custody.

Authorities said they recovered from the suspects 10 grams of shabu worth P68,000.

The suspects are being held by police on charges of drug trafficking.

In Marikina, Mellowie Cruz, 28, was nabbed for alleged possession of P400,000 worth of drugs.

City police chief Col. Restituto Arcangel said Cruz also yielded a 9mm pistol.
