More cops to secure Tagaytay
MANILA, Philippines — More police officers will be deployed in Tagaytay and along the borders of Cavite to protect tourists and residents following the resumption of domestic tourism.
The measure is also intended to manage and control the arrival of tourists, according to Lt. Gen. Guillermo Eleazar, Philippine National Police deputy director for administration.
Tagaytay earlier reopened its doors to local tourists to revive its economy that has been pummeled by the pandemic and the eruption of the Taal Volcano in January.
Local officials gave assurance that health and safety protocols would be strictly observed.
Tagaytay’s reopening will serve as a pilot test and model for the resumption of tourism in the country.
