Taguig locks down 4 areas

MANILA, Philippines — The city government of Taguig yesterday placed four areas in Barangay Sta. Ana under lockdown until the end of the month.

Pulong Kendi 2 and Samasipat, as well as Faculty and Romantic streets were placed under expanded localized community quarantine (ELCQ) starting yesterday until Sept. 30.

Pulong Kendi 2 and Samasipat were earlier placed under ELCQ for two weeks.

“Latest available data still has not identified the source of the transmission in the area nor have clear identifiers that the spread of the disease has been controlled,” the statement read.

As of yesterday, Barangay Sta. Ana has 220 confirmed COVID-19 cases, 50 of them active.
