BATANES, Philippines — A magnitude-3.5 earthquake shook parts of Batanes yesterday morning, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said.
The quake occurred at 6:18 a.m., and was centered some 15 kilometers southeast of Sabtang town.
It was felt at Intensity 3 in the towns of Sabtang, Uyugan and Ivana, and Intensity 2 in Basco and Mahatao.
Phivolcs describes quakes with Intensities 3 and 2 as weak and slightly felt, respectively.
No damage or aftershocks were expected from the temblor, the agency said.
