LTFRB shuts down head office
MANILA, Philippines — The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) said yesterday it will shut down its central office in Quezon City for a whole week starting tomorrow following confirmed coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) cases among its employees.
LTFRB chairman Martin Delgra said the central office will be closed from July 13 to 17 to make way for disinfection of its premises.
This comes after at least five employees tested positive for COVID-19 during RT-PCR swab testing, the LTFRB announced.
“Due to the current situation at the LTFRB office, and for the safety of our employees, stakeholders and the public, we decided to stop operations of the LTFRB central office starting Monday. Employees are not allowed to come to work,” Delgra said in Filipino.
All personal transactions, including complaints, applications, petitions, inquiries and payments, will not be accommodated by the LTFRB.
Online transactions for request of special permits, confirmation, franchise verification and provisional authority, as well as corrections and legal queries, will still be entertained.
The LTFRB closed the same office two weeks ago when one of its employees tested positive during a rapid test.
