Tanod caught with P1 million shabu
MANILA, Philippines — An estimated P1.02 million worth of shabu was confiscated from a barangay tanod or watchman during a sting in Quezon City yesterday.
Teng Macalbog, 47, of Barangay Maharlika in Taguig, was arrested by police in Barangay UP Campus.
Quezon City police chief Brig. Gen. Ronnie Montejo said Macalbog was apprehended after he allegedly sold shabu for P300,000 to a policeman who posed as a buyer.
Man pays for P1.2-M watch with fake check
In Makati, a 27-year-old man was arrested after he bought a luxury watch for P1.2 million from an online seller using a fraudulent check on Tuesday.
Baldwin Co was nabbed along with security guard Geraldben Mirabueno, 47, who tried to intervene in the police operation.
Police said Co gave the victim a manager’s check in exchange for an Audemars Piguet watch.
In Parañaque, police apprehended an alleged bitcoin scammer who swindled several victims of millions of pesos.
Malvin Tianchon, 29, was taken into police custody.
Authorities said Tianchon has standing warrant of arrest for estafa.
