MANILA, Philippines — The number of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) cases in Parañaque has reached 347, the city government posted on Facebook yesterday.

The city government said 347 cases were reported on April 16, a difference of 69 cases from the figure recorded on April 13.

Of the 347 cases, 36 have recovered, 41 have been discharged from hospitals while 23 died.

Barangay San Antonio still had the most number of cases at 41, with Don Bosco and BF Homes a close second at 39 cases each.

Barangay Moonwalk followed with 29 cases, while San Dionisio and Marcelo Green have 25 cases each.

Barangay Sun Valley has 23 cases, followed by Baclaran with 20; San Isidro, 19; Tambo, 16; Merville, 11; San Martin de Porres, nine; Don Galo, six; and Sto. Niño and La Huerta with five each.

Barangay Vitalez also recorded its first case.

Parañaque also included in its tally 34 COVID patients who were hospitalized in the city but are not residents.

The city also recorded 419 suspect cases and 474 probable cases.

Social distancing patrol

The National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) has ordered the formation of a social distancing patrol team in each police station in Metro Manila.

Makati frontliners to get hazard pay

The Makati City government has allotted P124.4 million for the hazard pay and special risk allowance to regular, casual and contractual employees working at the Ospital ng Makati as well as the city’s health, social welfare, and fire departments, the city police and city jail.

“It is only right that we extend them hazard pay and risk allowance because they also risk their lives every day to serve our Makatizens amid the pandemic,” Mayor Abby Binay said yesterday.

The city government authorized the allotment through City Ordinance 2020-092.

Pasig’s Twitter  account hacked

The Twitter account of the Pasig City public information office was hacked yesterday morning.

Mayor Vico Sotto confirmed that the Twitter account PasigInfo was hacked at around 10:15 a.m. but was secured an hour later. An investigation is being conducted, he added.

The hackers posted a link to a porn website, captioned Martial Law, and included several hashtags referring to popular television shows.– Ghio Ong, Romina Cabrera
