Mild quakes hit Eastern Visayas
MANILA, Philippines — Earthquakes hit parts of Eastern Visayas yesterday, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said.
The magnitude 4.7 and 4.4 quakes occurred at around 1:04 a.m. and 7:39 a.m., respectively.
The epicenter of the magnitude 4.7 tremor was located 43 kilometers southeast of Dolores, Eastern Samar.
The magnitude 4.4 quake was centered some 49 kms southeast of Dolores.
The quakes were felt at Intensity 2 in Borongan City.
Phivolcs said no damage or aftershocks were expected from the quakes.
