MMDA cracks down on reckless bus drivers

MANILA, Philippines — Starting today, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) and Land Transportation Office (LTO) will apprehend bus drivers with multiple traffic violations.

Based on the MMDA’s list, there are around 12,000 bus drivers with hundreds of violations, MMDA general manager Jojo Garcia said.

Of the number, 2,500 were issued show cause orders.

Garcia said they would work with the LTO in apprehending errant bus drivers.
