MANILA, Philippines — Two men were arrested and P6.8 million worth of methamphetamine hydrochloride or shabu were seized at a bar in Makati City yesterday.
Edison Chua and Brian Jay Bantengui were apprehended after they accepted the delivery of around a kilo of shabu, hidden in water purifiers, at the Motor Sports Bar at around 4 p.m., said Joel Plaza, Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-National Capital Region director.
The package of water purifiers was intercepted at the FedEx warehouse by the Bureau of Customs on Nov. 6.
The two will face charges of violating Republic Act 9165, the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act.
