Davao del Norte radio broadcaster wounded in ambush

DAVAO CITY, Philippines — A radio broadcaster was wounded in an ambush in Tagum City, Davao del Norte yesterday. 

Paterno Pacquaio, owner of 99.9 RP FM and provincial government information officer, had just finished his radio program and was driving home in his Ford Eco Sport when he was attacked by motorcycle-riding men near his residence in Barangay Visayan at around 8:05 p.m. 

A bullet grazed Pacquiao‘s back.

He was taken to a local hospital in Tagum City for treatment.

Two bullet shells for a caliber .45 pistol were recovered at the scene.

Authorities have yet to determine the motive for the ambush.
