3 held over P68 million shabu in Quezon City

MANILA, Philippines – Three alleged drug dealers, including a Chinese man, were arrested in a drug sting in Quezon City yesterday.

Joel Plaza, who heads the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)’s National Capital Region office, said 10 kilos of methamphetamine hydrochloride or shabu with a street value of P68 million were seized from Liu Fu Go and two Filipinos.

An initial PDEA report identified the other suspects as Keith Anthony Romo and Nonito Garlindo.

The operation took place along Catalina street in Barangay Sto. Domingo at around 4:30 p.m.

Pot, sex parties

In Pasig City, Nigerians Eddie Waylee and Daniel Ukah and Liberian Harmmony Onyebuchie were arrested in a raid by PDEA agents on a unit at the Riverfront Residences condominium in Pasig City on Monday.

The target of the operation, Liberian Godwin Kortee, was not present during the raid.

Levi Ortiz, who heads PDEA’s Special Enforcement Service, said they have been monitoring the group for several months after receiving a tip the suspects had been selling drugs to other foreigners.

“We also got information they were holding pot sessions and sex parties at the condominium unit,” Ortiz said.

Around 444 grams of marijuana with a street value of P60,000 were confiscated from the suspects.

Five other persons in Quezon City and four in Navotas were arrested in separate drug stings. Marc Jayson Cayabyab
