Drug suspect slain; P3.7-million marijuana seized

BAGUIO CITY, Philippines — A suspected drug dealer was killed in an alleged shootout with police officers in Sablan, Benguet on Sunday.

Arturo Bullo, 46, fired at law enforcers in a drug bust in Barangay Banangan, police said.

In Kalinga, three minors, all residents of Antipolo City, Rizal, were among four persons arrested at a checkpoint in Sitio Talaca, Barangay Agbannawag in Tabuk City on Saturday for alleged possession of marijuana.

The suspects reportedly yielded 31 marijuana bricks with an estimated value of P3.7 million.

In North Cotabato, ”high-value” drug suspect Elmer Frias, 42, was arrested in Barangay Ginatilan, Kidapawan City also on Sunday. – John Unson
