3 killed in Calabarzon shootings

CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna, Philippines — Three persons were killed in separate incidents in Batangas and Quezon province over the weekend.

Florencio Maranan was on a motorcycle when he was killed in Barangay San Guillermo, Lipa City.

In nearby San Pascual town, Kenneth Veyra was standing in front of their house in Barangay Danglayan when a man, identified as Manolo Contreras, allegedly shot him at close range.

Both Maranan and Veyra died at the scene.

Meanwhile, in Quezon, Rogelio Amazona was on his way home on a motorcycle when a lone assailant shot him in Barangay Masalukot 1, Candelaria.

Probers have yet to determine the motives for the killings.
