‘Bikoy’ released from detention

MANILA, Philippines — Peter Joemel Advincula, the man claiming to be “Bikoy” in the “Ang Totoong Narcolist” videos, is once again a free man after he posted bail on charges of cyberlibel filed against him by a businessman.

Advincula left the police Criminal Investigation and Detection Group-National Capital Region (CIDG-NCR) office at Camp Crame in Quezon City on Thursday.

Lt. Col. Arnold Thomas Ibay, CIDG-NCR director, said Advincula was accompanied by his brother, Joseph, when he left their office.

“He was freed after we received the order,” Ibay told reporters.

The release order was signed by Quezon City Regional Trial Court Branch 220 Judge Jose Paneda after Advincula’s camp posted P10,000 bail.

Advincula surrendered to police on Monday night after a court issued a warrant for his arrest based on the complaint filed by businessman Zaldy Co, whom he implicated in the illegal drug trade in one of his videos.
