Tanod shot dead in Intramuros

MANILA, Philippines — A 62-year-old barangay tanod died while another was wounded when two men on a motorcycle fired at them in Intramuros, Manila on Thursday night.

Domingo Ramos, of Barangay 670, Baseco Compound in Tondo, died while being treated in a hospital.

His companion, Poly de la Cruz, was wounded.

Capt. Henry Navarro, homicide chief of the Manila Police District, said the victims were in a tricycle along Bonifacio Drive when the suspects fired at them.

The gunmen fled after the attack.

Probers said they have yet to determine the motive for the killing.
