Dengue alert: Caraga cases up 200%

BUTUAN CITY, Philippines — The number of dengue cases in Caraga has risen to almost 200 percent, with 17 deaths, according to the dengue surveillance unit of the Department of Health (DOH).

At least 6,200 cases were recorded from Jan. 1 to July 15 compared to only 2,000 during the same period last year, the DOH-Caraga epidemiology and surveillance report showed. 

Agusan del Sur has the most number of cases at 1,300, followed by Butuan City with 1,200 and Surigao del Sur, 1,037.
