Rebel returnees complete TESDA training

MANILA, Philippines — At least 39 former New People’s Army (NPA) rebels in Agusan del Norte have completed special skills training at the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority.

The TESDA office in Caraga in partnership with the 23rd and 29th Infantry Battalions (IBs) and provincial social welfare and development office awarded certificates of completion to the rebel returnees in Barangay Del Pilar, Cabadbaran City over the weekend.

“This is part of the Enhanced-Comprehensive Local Integration Program of the government in preparing the rebels for their reintegration to the society,” First Lt. Roel Maglalang, 23rd IB civil-military operations officer, said.
