Ex-NPA, among Western Visayas’ most wanted, nabbed in Capiz
ILOILO CITY, Philippines — A former New People’s Army (NPA) leader on the most wanted list of the Western Visayas police was arrested on Sunday in Dumalag, Capiz.
Police said Baltasar Saldo, 54, former commander of the Roger Mahinay Command in Negros, has five warrants of arrest for murder and attempted murder.
Under a joint order of the Departments of the Interior and Local Government and National Defense, Saldo was placed on the list of most wanted terror suspects with a reward of P1 million for his arrest.
Brig. Gen. John Bulalacao, Western Visayas police director, said a man who led law enforcers to the suspect’s hideout would receive a share of the bounty.
