7 die in Kalinga road mishap

MANILA, Philippines — Seven persons died while 15 others were injured when a truck fell into a ravine in Tabuk City, Kalinga yesterday.

The fatalities were identified as Rufina Dawagon, Ghelyn Khim Gallema, Jules Alvester, Edmund Mangagom, Crisanta Casirayan, Lucita Mangagom and Doming Matalang, all of Tabuk City.  

The victims were taken to the Almora General Hospital, Holy Trinity Medical Treatment and Kalinga Provincial Hospital for treatment. 

The truck was headed to Barangay Balawag when it figured in the accident in Barangay Malin-awa at around 10 a.m.

Mark Anthony Lazaro reportedly lost control of the wheel as the vehicle was traveling along an uphill road in Sitio Binongsay. – Victor Martin
