P.5-M shabu seized in QC

MANILA, Philippines — An estimated P500,000 worth of shabu was confiscated from four suspected drug dealers in Quezon City on Monday night.

Jomar Usop, 36; Satar Bido, 19; Harold Laroza, 36, and Jjonalyn de Leon, 39, were nabbed in a sting in Barangay Greater Fairview.

Brig. Gen. Joselito Esquivel Jr., director of the Quezon City Police District, said the suspects allegedly yielded 70 grams of shabu and drug paraphernalia.

Prior to this, Esquivel said the suspects allegedly sold shabu for P1,000 to a policeman who posed as a buyer.

Aarol Josh Barreda, 22, of Sampaloc, Manila, was arrested for alleged possession of dried marijuana leaves at the Cubao station of the Light Rail Transit Line 2.

Police said 26 drug suspects were apprehended in separate anti-narcotics operations in Pasay, Pasig, Marikina, Malabon, Valenzuela and Caloocan yesterday.

The suspects are being held by police on charges of violating Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act.            – Romina Cabrera, Robertzon Ramirez, Marc Jayson Cayabyab
