Fire hits Makati school

MANILA, Philippines — A fire of still unknown origin broke out in one of the classrooms of the Makati Science High School in Barangay Cembo Sunday night, an official said yesterday.

Fire marshal Roy Quisto said the fire reached first alarm and destroyed the classroom’s ceiling but did not affect adjacent classrooms. He pegged the damage at P20,000.

No one was reported injured or killed during the fire, Quisto said.
