SOUTH COTABATO, Philippines — The police uprooted 3,239 marijuana shrubs in Barangay Danlag in Tampakan town on Monday in a joint operation with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency.

The raid was prompted by tips from local officials and residents of Tampakan who told authorities that armed men were growing marijuana in Sitio Datal Alyong in Barangay Danlag.

Investigators from the Tampakan municipal police who joined the operation collected samples of the uprooted marijuana to be stored as evidence.

PDEA-12 agents and police officers set the marijuana plants on fire after forensic experts collected specimens.
