MAGUINDANAO, Philippines — A former councilor in Talitay town was killed in an ambush yesterday.
Ambel Guimadel and his wife Saida were in their Toyota Hilux on their way to Cotabato City when they were attacked by motorcycle-riding men in Barangay Taviran, Datu Odin Sinsuat, police said.
Guimadel was declared dead on arrival at the Cotabato Regional Medical Center. His wife remains confined in the same hospital.
Chief Superintendent Graciano Mijares of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao police said personnel of the Talitay and Datu Odin Sinsuat police are conducting an investigation.
