MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Labor and Employment yesterday belied reports of mass deportation of overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) from the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
“No deportation will happen,” Labor Secretary Silvestre Bello said, citing a report from the Philippine Overseas Labor Office in UAE.
Bello issued the statement to allay confusion and anxiety among Filipino workers in the UAE.
