6 killed in shootings

MANILA, Philippines — Six persons were shot dead in separate incidents in Isabela, Pangasinan, Bulacan and Ilocos Sur in the past two days.

Police said trader Robert Uy, 58, was in Barangay District 2, Cauayan, Isabela when he was shot by a motorcycle-riding assailant at 9:45 a.m. yesterday. He died at the scene from a gunshot to the head.

In San Mateo town also in Isabela, Darwin Ramos, 38, was at the rooftop of a restaurant in Barangay Dagupan, where he worked, when he was shot at around 2 a.m. 

Senior Superintendent Chito Bersaluna, Bulacan police director, said Andres Limcuando and Rodelio Amponin were in a Toyota Altis on their way home from a cockpit in Barangay Abangan Sur, Marilao when they were ambushed in Barangay Banga, Meycauayan also yesterday.

The bag of one of the fatalities, which contained an undetermined amount of money, is reportedly missing.

Gregorio Elefanio was shot in Barangay Payar, San Carlos, Pangasinan on Tuesday.

Selerino Tacsiat was driving his tricycle with his partner Juana Tara, 45, when motorcycle-riding men opened fire. Tara was unhurt.  – Eva Visperas, Ramon Efren Lazaro
