MANILA, Philippines — Three US Marines were questioned at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) for their failure to declare ammunition found in their possession on Thursday.

The US military personnel, who participated in the Balikatan exercises in Zamboanga recently, were about to board a Delta Airlines plane for Japan when they were called by airport authorities.

Personnel of the Office for Transportation Security (OTS) discovered the bullets when the bags of the US servicemen were subjected to X-ray screening at the departure area of the NAIA Terminal 3.

OTS officials said 60 bullets and 17 magazines were found in the luggage of one of the Marines named Daniel Barlow.

The US Marines were allowed to board their flight after documents for the ammunition were presented by an American liaison officer.
