4 dead in Bataan road mishap

BALANGA CITY, Philippines — Four persons died while another was injured when a vehicle slammed into a house in Orani, Bataan before dawn yesterday.

Aurelio Santiago, 60; his children Juvy, 42, and Rogelio, 41, and son-in-law Raymund Tesaluna, 34, were in a Toyota Vios when they figured in the accident along Governor Pascual road in Barangay Tugatog.

Rogelio, who was driving the car, died at the scene. Aurelio, Juvy and Raymund were declared dead on arrival at the Orani District Hospital.

Tricycle driver Albert Torres was taken to a hospital for treatment of bruises in the head, arms and legs.

The victims were on their way to the Bataan Provincial Hospital in this city to confine Aurelio who complained of abdominal pains, according to Chief Inspector Leobaldom Bacon of the Orani police.

Rogelio reportedly lost control of the wheel as he was negotiating a curve along the Roman Expressway. 

In Isabela, two students were injured when their motorcycle collided with a Victory Liner bus in Ilagan City on Monday afternoon.

Reports said the motorcycle swerved, causing it to hit the bus driven by Michael Austria, 38, in Barangay Baligtaan.

The students were taken to the Gov. Faustino Dy Sr. Memorial Hospital for treatment. – With Raymund Catindig
