2 hurt in truck mishap

MANILA, Philippines — The driver of a 22-wheeler truck and his helper were injured when their vehicle, which was carrying soft drinks, fell on its side along Ayala Boulevard in Manila yesterday morning.

Bernie Vidal was trying to maneuver the truck after making a wide left turn near the foot of Ayala Bridge from Romualdez Avenue when the accident occurred at around 5:30 a.m. They were headed to Port Area.

Vidal and his helper, who was not identified, were released after being treated at a hospital, the Manila Police District said.
