5 drug suspects slain in Cavite

CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna, Philippines — Five drug suspects were killed in separate encounters with authorities in Cavite over the weekend.

A certain Bimar, who was on the drug list of the police, died at the scene after he reportedly exchanged fire with anti-narcotics agents in General Trias City on Saturday night.

In Naic, Jay Loyola and his two companions, whose names were not immediately available, reportedly drew their guns after sensing that they were dealing with undercover agents in Barangay Muzon.

Meanwhile, village watchman Joey Pascua was killed in a sting in Barangay Sampaloc, Dasmariñas City yesterday morning, according to Superintendent Nerwin Ricohermoso, city police chief.

Police said a .45 caliber pistol and 24 plastic sachets said to contain shabu were recovered from Pascua. – Emmanuel Tupas
