Journalist stabbed to death in Albay town

LEGAZPI CITY, Philippines (Bicol Standard) —  A Bicolano journalist was stabbed to death while playing basketball at the Daraga covered court on Sunday morning.

Celso Tan Amo, 66, a widower and a resident of Barangay San Roque, Daraga, Albay, was reportedly stabbed by Adam Johnson Abanez, 33 years old, married, and a resident of Dao, Pilar, Sorsogon.

Reports say that a small misunderstanding over the ball during the game led to the killing.

The perpetrator was immediately arrested by local police.

Amo was a correspondent for The Philippine Star and previously worked for the Philippine Information Agency.
