Teen rapes, kills 4-year-old sister in South Cotabato

KORONADAL CITY, Philippines  —   A four-year-old girl was found dead near a creek in Polomolok, South Cotabato at past midnight yesterday.

Police said the body of the victim, which was found stuffed in a sack, was recovered after her 16-year-old half-brother surrendered and admitted that he raped her.

“Natakot siya na baka magsumbong ang biktima kaya niya umano pinatay ang biktima,” Senior Inspector Ludovico Rendaje of the Polomolok police said, quoting the suspect.  

Rendaje said the suspect is under the custody of the social welfare office. 

In T’boli town, Baldwin Balonto, 26, was arrested on Wednesday for allegedly raping an eight-year-old girl.

Investigation showed the girl failed to return home after she was asked by her father to buy fish sauce at a store near their house. She was found unconscious at the house of the suspect and was taken to a hospital for treatment.
