Man goes berserk, hacks parked vehicles in Surigao City

BUTUAN CITY, Philippines — Police officers shot a man who went berserk at the Surigao City public market on Tuesday and hacked several vehicles parked along Borromeo street.

Kevin Datig, 25, a resident of Purok 1, Libas, Jabonga, Agusan del Norte, was reportedly under the influence of liquor.

Datig was taken to the Caraga Regional Hospital for treatment, where he remained confined yesterday.

Five vehicles, including an ambulance owned by the city government, were damaged.
