3 drug suspects slain in shootouts

MANILA, Philippines — Three suspected drug personalities were killed in police operations in Quezon, Rizal and Cavite on Friday.

Mark Oliver Albuera, a resident of Mabini, Batangas, shot it out with law enforcers who posed as buyers of shabu in Barangay Mayhay, Pagbilao, Quezon at around 7 p.m., Senior Superintendent Osmundo de Guzman, Quezon police director, said.

Around six grams of shabu with an estimated street value of P40,000 were recovered from the fatality.

In Rizal, an alias Boy reportedly drew his gun when he sensed he had transacted with an anti-narcotics agent in Barangay San Andres at around 3 p.m.

Francisco Viray, 47, was shot dead after he reportedly fired at law enforcers who responded to reports that an armed man was creating trouble in Barangay 36-M in Cavite City.

Police said Boy and Viray yielded guns and undetermined amounts of shabu.

Also in Cavite on Friday, 290 grams of shabu valued at  P1.9 million were recovered from six persons arrested in Barangay Molino 3, Bacoor. – Michelle Zoleta
