11-hour fire razes Malabon plastics warehouse

MANILA, Philippines — A fire that raged for 11 hours razed the warehouse of a plastics company in Malabon and cost almost P2 million in damage Sunday night.

The fire, which reached first alarm at 11:30 p.m. Sunday and then third alarm shortly before midnight, razed the two-story warehouse of Long Ho Plastic Scrapt company along Mabolo street in Barangay Maysilo.

Fire investigator FO3 Eric Jude Belecario yesterday said the fire raged for almost half a day because of the flammable plastic materials.

The fire was declared under control at around 6 a.m. yesterday and put out at around 10:23 a.m.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation, the prober said.
