Cops kill Abu bandit in Basilan

ZAMBOANGA CITY, Philippines — An Abu Sayyaf bandit was killed in an alleged shootout with police officers in Isabela, Basilan on Thursday. 

Omaidie Salain fired at police officers serving a warrant of arrest for robbery and homicide at his house in Barangay Sumangdang, Superintendent Gilzen Niño Manese, Isabela police chief, said. 

Manese said Salain was also a member of a gun-for-hire gang.
