Drug war: 6 suspects slain

MANILA, Philippines — Three suspected drug pushers were killed in alleged shootouts with law enforcers in Bulacan and Pampanga on Thursday and three others in Rizal and Cavite yesterday. 

Von Adrian Mabanglo, 33, reportedly resisted arrest and fired at police officers serving a warrant at his residence in Barangay San Isidro, Taytay.

Senior Superintendent Lou Evangelista, Rizal police director, said Mabanglo was also tagged in robberies and contract killings.

In Cavite, Rey Balandra and an alias Dante drew their guns when they sensed they had transacted with police officers in stings in Barangay Talaba 6, Bacoor and  San Agustin, Trece Martires, respectively, Senior Superintendent William Segun, Cavite police director, said.

Michael Victore also reportedly shot anti-narcotics agents in Barangay Sta. Lucia, San Luis, Pampanga.

Sonny Boy Fernandez, alias Bordado, and Reynaldo Puntawe were gunned down after they fired at anti-narcotics agents in Barangays Santisima Trinidad and Caniogan, respectively, in Malolos, Senior Superintendent Chito Bersaluna, Bulacan police acting director, said. 

P4.8-million shabu, P11.6-million marijuana

Also in Bulacan, around 600 grams of shabu with an estimated street value of P4.8 million were seized from Johari and Patang, both surnamed Mauna, Arjay Samporan and Reuben Bisonaya in drug busts in Barangay Cacarong, Pandi yesterday.

Personnel of the Bulacan police and Northern Police District conducted the operations.

In Kalinga, 33,700 fully grown marijuana plants valued at P11.6 million went up in smoke in Tinglayan town on Wednesday.

 Anti-narcotics agents, Army troopers and local policemen uprooted the marijuana plants in 11 plantations in Barangays Buscalan and Butbut. – Non Alquitran, Ed Amoroso, Artemio Dumlao, Emmanuel Tupas, Raymund Catindig
