DAVAO CITY, Philippines – Minimum wage earners in the Davao region will get a pay increase of P56.

The Regional Tripartite Wage and Productivity Board approved yesterday a wage order providing an increase of P30 to be given starting Aug. 16 and P26 on Feb. 16 next year.

The wage order will raise the daily take home pay of non-agricultural workers from P340 to P370 and agricultural workers from P335 to P365.

Workers in retail or service industries with not more than 10 employees will get a daily wage of P355 starting Aug. 16 and P381 on Feb. 16, 2019. 

Davao City and the provinces of Davao Oriental, Davao del Norte, Davao del Sur, Davao Occidental and Compostela Valley comprise the Davao region. 

The Department of Labor and Employment had earlier announced salary increases this year in regions where wage orders reached their anniversary dates.

Salary increases for minimum wage earners in Calabarzon was implemented on April 28; Soccsksargen, May 11; Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao, June 15; Eastern Visayas, June 25, and Western Visayas, July 12.

An increase of P20 was implemented in Central Luzon, yesterday. Central Visayas workers will get salary increases ranging from P10 to P52 starting tomorrow.

The wage board in Zamboanga peninsula also recently approved a wage increase.
