31 Chinese held for online gambling

MANILA, Philippines — The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) arrested 31 Chinese allegedly involved in online gambling in Muntinlupa City on Wednesday.

Armed with a search warrant issued by the Muntinlupa Regional Trial Court Branch 203, personnel from the NBI, Bureau of Immigration, city business permit and licensing office and local police raided a house on Apo street in Ayala Alabang being used as an illegal cyber gambling den. 

The raid was staged after Ayala Alabang officials reported the suspicious activities of people in the house.

The Chinese were charged with violating Republic Act 10175 or the cybercrime prevention law.
