MANILA, Philippines — Thousands of members of Iglesia ni Cristo (INC) participated in an outreach program dubbed “Aid to fight poverty” at the Quirino Grandstand in Manila yesterday.

The organizers said the bad weather did not stop the program, which provided medical and dental assistance to at least 200,000 patients.

The INC members gathered as early as 4 a.m. in different parts of Metro Manila and proceeded to Roxas Boulevard before 7 a.m.

The outreach program was part of the church’s 104th anniversary.

Free dental and medical services such as random blood sugar testing, blood typing, urinalysis, X-ray, 2D echo, ultrasound and electrocardiogram were provided to the beneficiaries.
