TUGUEGARAO, Philippines — A farmer and his wife landed in jail after the woman allegedly assaulted a neighbor whom she suspected of having an affair with her husband in Rizal, Cagayan yesterday.
Jonel Ladera, 54, and his wife Rosemarie, 52, were arested by responding police officers.
Rosemarie reportedly attacked Helen Telan, 55, with a crowbar in Barangay Duyun, said town police chief Senior Inspector Ponciano Taliping Jr.
The Laderas were dragging Telan toward their backyard when the woman regained consciousness and cried for help.
Police said the suspects thought Telan was dead and planned to hide her body in the backyard.
The victim was brought to the Cagayan Valley Medical Center for treatment.
