Monsoon to weaken, but rains to continue

Helen Flores - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines — The southwest monsoon, which dumped heavy rains in Luzon in the past days, is expected to weaken on Saturday, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration announced yesterday.

Weather specialist Ezra Bulquerin, however, said the weather system would continue to bring light to moderate rains over some parts of Luzon, including Metro Manila.

Bulquerin said the southwest monsoon would bring rains over Ilocos region, Cordillera Administrative Region, Batanes, Babuyan Group of Islands, Zambales, Bataan, Cavite and Batangas.
