CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna, Philippines — Fifty-seven people were injured when a bus fell into a canal in Tanauan, Batangas yesterday afternoon.
Most of the victims who were brought to different hospitals were sent home after receiving treatment.
Eight remained confined at the nearby Mercado Hospital, according to Superintendent Chitadel Gaoiran, spokesperson for the Calabarzon (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal and Quezon) police.
Bus driver Joselito Nono lost control of the wheel after he avoided another vehicle along the Southern Tagalog Arterial Road expressway.
