7 slain in shootings

MANILA, Philippines — Two suspects and five other persons were gunned down in Luzon on Sunday.

Alberto Peralta drew his gun when he sensed he had sold shabu to anti-drug operatives in Barangay Sampaloc, Talavera, Nueva Ecija.

Peralta yielded a sachet of shabu, a caliber .45 pistol and marked money, police said.

Marlon Castro shot it out with police operatives who responded to reports of a robbery in Barangay Abar First, San Jose, also in Nueva Ecija.

In Albay, Joan Cereza, 34, was driving her car with her children when she was shot near St. Joseph parish church in Tabaco City at around 9:40 p.m.

The gunmen fled on a black Toyota Fortuner toward Ligao City.

In Masbate, habal-habal driver Jessie Vicente, 31, was shot in Barangay Cabitan, Mandaon at around 9:10 a.m.

Motorcycle-riding men shot Joemer Malabanan as he was driving his jeepney in Barangay Antipolo del Norte, Lipa, and Rey Miranda in San Miguel, Sto. Tomas, both in Batangas.

In Rizal, Manuel Mauricio was shot by an unidentified man with whom he had an altercation along Quezon street, Barangay San Roque, Antipolo
