33 held for drugs in Quezon City

MANILA, Philippines — Thirty-three suspects were arrested in police anti-drug operations in Quezon City in the past two days.

Five of them were arrested in a sting in Barangay Tagumpay at around 2:35 a.m. yesterday, said Quezon City Police District director Chief Superintendent Guillermo Eleazar.

Mary Rose Pagdalian, 32; Jolina Legaspi, 19; Joaquin Gammad, 37; Jesielyn Adonay, 31; and Jolina Legaspi, 19, were apprehended after they allegedly sold sachets of shabu to a policeman posing as a buyer in exchange for P300, Eleazar said.

Seven sachets of shabu and assorted drug paraphernalia were reportedly seized from them.

Grace Lorenzo, 26, and Leilani Alueta, 39, were arrested at around 12:45 a.m. the same day during an anti-crime drive in Barangay San Agustin. They were reportedly caught holding three sachets of shabu.

Meanwhile, 26 drug suspects were collared on Friday.

Rey Bernardino, 41; Ronald Bernardino, 40; Danilo Bernardino, 27; Raymond Bernardino, 22, and Bonifacio Penero, 20, were arrested in a bust in Barangay Pag-asa at around 5:30 a.m. Six sachets of shabu were reportedly confiscated from them.

Gerardo Guambor, 43, was caught in Barangay Pasong Tamo at around 6 p.m. after he allegedly threw a sachet of shabu along a street.

In the same barangay, police apprehended Loreto Andan Jr., 37, at around 5:30 p.m. for using shabu at his house. A sachet of meth and assorted drug paraphernalia were seized from him.

Melinda Alunday, 36, was arrested in a sting Barangay Tandang Sora at around 9:15 p.m. A sachet of shabu was allegedly confiscated from her.

Vincent Cuenca, 47; Melchor de Jesus, 23; and Ardie delos Santos, 30, were arrested in a sting in Barangay Nova Proper at around 4:30 p.m. Police reportedly seized eight sachets of shabu and two motorcycles from them.

Benedict Ronald, 29, was arrested in a bust in Barangay Batasan Hills at around 12:05 a.m. Three sachets of shabu were allegedly found in his possession.

In Barangay Payatas, Jonwel Jayme, 25; Aurelio Beldad, 29; and Wilmar Pat, 20, were arrested at around 1:30 a.m. in a sting that reportedly yielded seven sachets of shabu.

Alberto Lamoste, 51; Jessa Misa, 38; and Vernee Lamban, 41, were caught in a sting in Barangay Kaunlaran at around 1:40 a.m. Five sachets of shabu and drug paraphernalia were allegedly found in their possession.

Drug surrenderee Dennis Romulo, 40, was caught in a sting in the same barangay at around 11:30 p.m. Eight sachets of shabu were reportedly seized from him.

Four sachets of shabu were seized from Roger Chavez, 64; Victor Prado, 40; and Jelyn Utay, 32, in a sting in Barangay Central at around 8:30 p.m.

Oscar de Guzman, 61, was arrested in Barangay Masagana at around 9:45 p.m. after three sachets of shabu were reportedly found on his person.

In Barangay Paligsahan, three sachets of shabu were seized from jeepney barkers Jerry Leonardo, 28; Junskee Geralde, 28; and Rafael Makidez, 35, at around 1:30 p.m.
