ZAMBOANGA CITY, Philippines — Two Abu Sayyaf bandits were killed in an encounter with soldiers in Patikul, Sulu on Saturday, an official said yesterday.
Brig. Gen. Cirilito Sobejana, Joint Task Force Sulu commander, said the clash occurred in Barangay Latih when soldiers responded to reports of a kidnapping by around 20 bandits led by Radulan Sahiron.
Sobejana said the bandits withdrew toward Barangay Bungkaong, carrying their slain and wounded comrades.
